Introduction

Who is Craig Large?

I’m a UEFA A-licensed coach with an MSc in Sport Coaching and over 23 years of experience operating across elite and grassroots football. My work is centred on building high-performance environments that develop players, strengthen teams, and create lasting impact beyond the pitch.

I design and lead game models that are clear, adaptable, and aligned to the people within them. My coaching focuses on developing intelligent, resilient players and empowering staff to lead with confidence and clarity. I believe sustained success comes from strong individuals, aligned behaviours, and a shared standard that never drops.

Across my career, I’ve worked with players from early childhood to senior level, supporting long-term development while demanding accountability, ownership, and growth. I don’t chase short-term outcomes at the expense of people — I build systems that last.

I’m driven by challenge and operate best in environments that require clarity, adaptability, and leadership. I connect quickly, communicate directly, and lead with intent. I’m constantly evolving — not because I lack confidence, but because high performance demands it.

This is my work. It’s ongoing, and it’s deliberate.
If you care about standards, development, and building something meaningful, there’s a conversation to be had.

I'm going to tell you the story about the geese which fly 5,000 miles from Canada to France. They fly in V-formation, but the second ones don't fly. They're the subs for the first ones. And then the second ones take over - so it's teamwork.”
