My MSc research into the characteristics of effective head coaches has sharpened my interest in leadership readiness and the conditions in which people develop. I’m interested in making the link between ideas and daily practice clearer.

The Outplay Index is an idea for examining how players and teams create, stabilise and exploit advantages. My work on Head Coach Leadership Readiness asks what preparation for a senior role looks like beyond a list of qualifications.
These concepts are in development. Their value will come from careful testing with people in football, honest feedback and a willingness to change the model when practice reveals something new.

The development challenge connects personal effort, curiosity and causes with personal meaning. Running is one vehicle for testing discipline and reflection outside the routines of football.
Stepping into other settings gives me new questions about pressure, preparation and resilience. The work matters when those lessons return to the people and environments I coach.
